Four Minutes to Land a Hot Rogue River Summer Steelhead

Tied up this tiny fly just the evening before this action. It is a sort of reduced in proportions Birds Nest Nymph with a gold bead head. I fish it on a sixteen inch leader tied off of a Carpetbagger Stonefly Nymph. The Carpetbagger provides some weight and flash to get it down in the heavy flow of the Rogue. The little fly provides the action!

Nymphing wasn’t working. Then I tied on this old Silver Hilton wet fly I found in the bottom of my fly box.
